Scooby Snack Through The Holidays
Here is a long awaited Scooby entry. Our little Snacker is enjoying
the holidays. Here we see Scooby on Thanksgiving Day. She thought
freshly whipped cream was a GREAT treat. The amazing thing is that
she knows to lick it off my fingers instead of grab and run like she
does with her other treats. Thank goodness!
Here she is with a nice piece of blueberry nutrigrain waffle. She
loves her gramma's pumpkin cake and banana nut bread as well.

After all that snacking, the Snack herself needs a little down time.

Scooby's gramma Alice gave her a present from the pets. Gramma
requested her gift be opened early since it contained decorations for
Scooby's tree. Annabelle and Wishbone are dogs, Mido is a parrot, Iodine a
leopard gecko and Roy is the snake.

Here's Scooby, 12-17, opening her first Christmas gift. In all my years living
with animals I never saw any other critter figure out the present opening
thing this fast. We almost missed the pictures!
Here's Scooby's tree. We found this tiny live tree at Winn Dixie. It got marked
down right in front of us so we bought it. I strung cranberries and popcorn for
a garland. Russ helped (he actually volunteered) thread string through
gumdrops to make ornaments. I put carnations in the branches for that lovely
burst of red. All the elements are edible.

The first photo is her tree with her gift. The second shot is the tree in her
room and as you can see, she was givin' it the eye from the side of her cage
Scooby wasted very little time checking out her tree.  Once she
was sure it was safe she nibbled and climbed  her way to the top.
Apparently being owned by a squirrel requires some on the job training.
There is a learning curve involved which, unfortunately, is gained by
experience.

Do not... let me repeat... DO NOT store the squirrels Christmas present in
the bedroom closet. Especially if that present is a bowl full of nuts!

We used the extra piece of kickplate I have on the bedroom door to patch
the hole. I'll be insetting the steel the entire length of the door as soon as
I can get down to the home improvement store. Picture my closet doors
with that industrial kitchen look.
